PatientDesk

Features

Everything it does, in plain words

This page lists what is working now, then what is not finished. Nothing here is a plan dressed up as a feature.

Patients

The patient record

Name, age, sex, phone, address, past history, allergies written down, and a photo. Patient numbers are given out in order and never skip.

Households

Family members grouped together, so a mother and two children are one household with one phone number, not three unconnected records.

Documents

Upload reports, test results and photos against the patient. Files are kept privately and opened through a link that stops working after a set time.

Import and merge

Bring in the list you already keep. You see a preview first and nothing is saved until you accept it. If the same patient was entered twice, the two records can be merged.

The reception desk

Doctor sittings

Set which doctor sits in which chamber, on which days, at what times. Availability is worked out from the real schedule, and doctor leave blocks the slots.

Appointments

Book, confirm, reschedule, cancel or mark a no-show. Walk-ins are handled the same way as booked patients. Check-in marks a patient as arrived.

Serial queue

Today’s queue for each sitting: who has arrived, who is waiting, who is with the doctor, who is done. Call-next moves the queue along, and the chamber and the desk see the same thing.

Booking links

A link you can give a patient or put in a post, which opens straight on the booking page for your clinic.

The doctor’s chamber

Writing the prescription

Medicines with dose, route and duration, plus advice and follow-up. Templates for the things you write every day, and saved advice lines you can drop in.

Signing, and changing a signed one

A prescription is signed by the doctor. After that it cannot be quietly edited: a correction creates a new version, and the earlier one is kept and marked as replaced.

Printing and sharing

A PDF on the clinic’s own letterhead, in Bangla or English. The PatientDesk name is never printed on your prescription, bill or receipt. A share link can be sent to the patient.

The medicine list

Search Bangladeshi brands and generics while writing. If your clinic uses something that is not on the list, add it under your own name.

Investigations

Order tests against the visit and record the results on the patient. Coming soon

Money at the counter

Everything here records what happened at your counter. No money passes through PatientDesk.

Bills and receipts

Make a bill from the consultation fee and whatever services were given, with a discount if you allow one. Print a receipt. Bill and receipt numbers run in order and never skip.

Payments

Record what the patient paid and how — cash, card, bKash or Nagad — including a part payment now and the rest later.

Refunds and voids

A refund is recorded as its own entry rather than by changing history. Cancelling a receipt needs a manager’s approval and a reason, and the desk cannot do it alone.

Treatment packages

Sell a course — say six sittings paid in advance — and take one sitting off it at each visit. The patient’s record shows how many sittings are left.

Day close

At the end of the day the counter is closed per cash drawer: what the system expects, what is actually in the drawer, and the difference. Once a day is approved it stops moving.

Reports

What you can see today

Daily sales and collections; patients and revenue by doctor; which treatments were done and what they brought in; where your bookings came from; and how your staff are converting enquiries into visits. Each report can be filtered by chamber and by date.

Ready-made dashboards for each role

One page per person — owner, doctor, sales, front desk — with the charts that matter to them. Coming soon

Chambers, people and trust

Several chambers, one account

Add every chamber you run. A staff member is attached to the chambers they actually work in and sees nothing from the others.

Roles and permissions

Who may see money, who may write a prescription, who may cancel a bill — set action by action, not by one blunt “admin” switch. The owner can build a role to match a job that only exists in their clinic.

Activity trail

Clinical and money actions are written to a trail that cannot be edited or deleted afterwards, by anyone, including us.

Bangla and English

Both languages across every screen and on the printed prescription, with numbers following the language.

Install it on the phone

PatientDesk runs in the browser and can be installed on a phone like an app, which suits a front desk that is on its feet.

Not finished yet

What we are still building

Listed so you can judge for yourself whether PatientDesk is enough for your clinic today. We put no dates on them.

Medicine safety warnings are not working yet. PatientDesk does not check for allergies, drug interactions or duplicate medicines. The doctor must check as they always have. This is the one thing we are most careful not to overstate, because a doctor who trusted a warning that never came could harm a patient.

  • Coming soon Leads and follow-ups — enquiries on a board, owners, follow-up dates, and an activity history that cannot be edited.
  • Coming soon Online booking with an SMS code — the patient books on a public page and confirms with a code sent to their phone.
  • Coming soon Enquiries from Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp landing in the system by themselves.
  • Coming soon Accounts and expenses — money in and out, vendors, bills, transfers, month lock.
  • Coming soon Stock — items, batches, expiry, receiving, counting and low-stock alerts.
  • Coming soon Staff and payroll — staff records, roster, attendance, leave, salary terms, payroll and payslips.
  • Coming soon Role dashboards for the owner, the doctor, the sales desk and the front desk.
  • Coming soon Lab, pharmacy, purchasing, and later the in-patient side — wards, operation theatre and discharge.
